My 2¢ On Cindy Sheehen

Cindy Sheehen. She is a mother. One of her children, Casey, enlisted in the Army. He was 24, assigned to 1st Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. He was killed April 4 when his unit was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire in Baghdad.

His family members said his sergeant told them he and another soldier, Cpl. Forest J. Jostes, volunteered to be part of a quick response team when rioting started in Baghdad.

Army Maj. Gen. Rodney Kobayashi was on hand to present the family with the Purple Heart and Bronze Star and thank them for a fine soldier, "a soldier’s soldier."

Casey voluntered TWICE for military service. TWICE. VOLUNTEERED. That says volumes more than Comrade Sheehen can ever mutter, no matter how many times Perky Katie Couric gushes over her.

Her son made the ultimate sacrifice for what he believed in, while she damned him for it. A mother's love - ain't it wonderful?

She has all the glorious charm of the Rev. Michael Moore, but with only half the estrogen. Sensing a chance to humiliate President Bush, the Michael Moore crowd has rallied around Dame Sheehen who has become the anti-Iraq war poster person. But it's sad to watch this woman being used by organizations that not only oppose the Iraq war, but believe the USA is a fundamentally flawed nation. Her words now lead the Michael Moore website.

Says traderrob:
[She] is anything but a "typical" mother. She has been active in far left fringe organizations since well before the invasion of Iraq was a glint in George Bush's eye. She now aligns herself with such "mainstream" organizations as TrueMajority and Democracy for America, MoveOn.Org, Code Pink Women for Peace, United for Peace and Justice, Veterans for Peace, Michael Moore, etc etc.
She wants Bush to take all our men and women out of Iraq - now. OK. Paint your own mental picture of a country that was already almost beyond rescue in 2003, as it is handed back to an alliance of homicidal Baathists and Bin-Ladenists. Comfort yourself, if that's the way you think, with the idea that such people are only nasty because Bush made them so. Intone the Sheehan mantra—repeated this very week—that terrorism is no problem because after all Bush is the leading terrorist in the world. See if that cheers you up. Try it on your friends. Live with it, if you are ready to live with the consequences of what you desire.
Well I believe that my son was killed by the policies of George Bush, you know, that none of those kids should be in Iraq at all ... The person who killed my son, I have no animosity for that person at all. You know, I many Iraqi mothers who have been destroyed by our invasion and occupation which is illegal and immoral what we are doing over there. I have no animosity towards that person.

No animosity for the person that pumped bullets and/or rockets into her son? Is she nuts?
I'd like to remind you that she said this during a phone call with a group of reporters, and I can't find a single instance of this remark reported anywhere.

Of course you won't find these words of Queen Sheehen in any of the mainstream media. She's their Darling. She's their Ratings-Builder. She's their Mouthpiece. The mainstream media must protect Her. The media have been acting as her megaphone. But the truth of the matter is that She is no longer an individual. She has become a tool, a puppet of the Moonbat Left. All the various Leftists have collectively crammed their hands into one of Her orifices, and She is now a puppet, a dummy, spouting their screen as Her own.

She decided to camp out close to President Bush’s ranch in Crawford, Texas until he comes out to talk to her. Yeah, like the President of the world's richest and most powerful nation is going to take time out of his busy day, during a time when we are at a shooting war with international terrorism, so placate someone that has already publically crucified him. Hold your breath, Lady Sheehen.

She said she and her husband separated a few months ago as a result of the war, and of her activism. Her husband divorced her because instead of focusing on her dead son, She goes and pushes Her own point of view without even presenting the other - a hallmark of the Moonbats. Although she and her estranged husband are both Democrats, she said she is more liberal than he is, and now she's more radicalized. Finally, a shread of truth out of her vile gullet.

Oh, by the way, Bush already met with Her once. Why does she need to talk to him again? Maybe MoveOn.org's cameras and microphones weren't there the first time, huh?

Mumia Abu-Jamal, the convicted cop killer and leftist favorite, says:
[She] reminds us of the dreaded weapons-of-mass-destruction lie that convinced many to suspend their objections and misgivings and support this bone-headed imperial dream of remaking the Middle East.

Isn't it nice to have a convicted cop killer on your side? It's also nice when a former Ku Klux Klan leader, David Duke, is supporting Her:
Courageously she has gone to Texas near the ranch of President Bush and braved the elements and a hostile Jewish supremacist media to demand a meeting with him and a good explanation why her son and other’s sons and daughters must die and be disfigured in a war for Israel rather than for America.
War for Israel? Yep, that's how She feels:
Yes, my first born was murdered. Am I angry? Yes, he was killed for lies and for a PNAC Neo-Con agenda to benefit Israel. My son joined the Army to protect America, not Israel. Am I stupid? No, I know full-well that my son, my family, this nation, and this world were betrayed by George [W.] Bush who was influenced by the neo-con PNAC agenda after 9/11.
Of course Cindy, days later, denied her own words:
I didn't -- I didn't say -- I didn't say that my son died for Israel. I've never said that. I saw somebody wrote that and it wasn't my words. Those aren't even words that I would say. I do believe that the Palestinian issue is a hot issue that needs to be solved and it needs to be more fair and equitable but I never said my son died for Israel.
She denied making them and proceeded in her blog to assert that someone had gotten hold of her original letter and somehow doctored it. This dark and murky allegation — evincing further paranoia on her part — has been easily and convincingly refuted. Nice try, Countess Sheehen. Too bad the Internet records EVERYTHING you say, write, or do. Not content with echoing the Bin-Ladenist line that the President is the real "terrorist" and that he is the tool of a Jewish cabal, she has dug a pit of falsehood around her own wild story. Liar.

Yeah, she really doesn't like President Bush:
If you really had any moral values, or if you were an honorable man at all you would resign.
Dick Cheney probably teamed up with his buddies from Haliburton to artificialy make Saint Sheehen's mother have a stroke in order to make her leave the ranch. Yeah, that's it.

Relatives on Mr. Sheehen's side of the family issued public statements attacking Ms. Sheehen for her protest.
The Sheehen Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehen Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.
Says David Horowitz:
She hates everything he fought and died for - his commitment to his country, his dedication to his brothers-in-arms. She hates his patriotism. She hates his heroism. She hates that he defied her wishes and rejected her opinions. He re-upped and went to Iraq, and got himself killed in an "illegal war" - a war she vehemently opposes.
Says Rocco DiPippo:
Day by day, hour by hour and now, minute by minute, the MSM construct of Cindy as patriotic victim of Bush’s war crumbles into dust. Rising in its place is the America-hating, unpatriotic, fame-intoxicated adolescent that Cindy has, by her own words, revealed herself to be.
Moonbat Sheehen has, miraculously come to a surprising revelation:
We are not waging a war on terror in this country. We’re waging a war of terror. The biggest terrorist in the world is George W. Bush.
She is also the keeper of secret knowledge:
We are waging a nuclear war in Iraq right now. That country is contaminated. It will be contaminated for practically eternity now.
I guess I missed it when we dropped all those nukes.

Diva Sheehen is not alone in her bitter screed:
America's purpose in Iraq is over. The soldiers should be brought home. It can be done, as has been proven in Vietnam, Somalia and other places.
Huh? I thought we LOST in Vietnam and Somalia. If this Seattle Times editorial really believes in her aims, and holds up humiliating American defeats like Vietnam and Somalia as praiseworthy examples, then they're willingly aligned with those who are rooting against America.

The Communists prevailed in Vietnam because they had a stronger will to win than the U.S.-supported South Vietnamese. At great sacrifice, the US gave South Vietnam a chance to be free. They did not step up. The people of the US did not step up. The result was decades of totalitarianism that continues to this day, and millions of South Vietnamese and Cambodians murdered by the Communists. Ain't it funny how the Moonbats never mention that, or the decades of atrocities committed by Saddam Hussein.

So what does she really think about our men and women in uniform:
Do you know that it costs $66,000 to recruit one recruit? That’s continuing all of their – you know, the recruiter’s salary, the recruiter’s bonus, the place that they rent to recruit and things like that. All the perks they get and everything. That’s not even training the recruit. It costs our government about $6,000 a year on each child in California. $46,000 a year to house a prisoner in our state. Our priorities are seriously screwed up, as I mentioned.
She's upset that we spend more training one of our warriors and defenders than we do on prisoners? Is she out of her mind? I bet you didn't hear this rant on the nightly news, did you?

You want more? OK:
I take responsibility partly for my son’s death, too. I was raised in a country by a public school system that taught us that America was good, that America was just. America has been killing people, like my sister over here says, since we first stepped on this continent, we have been responsible for death and destruction. I passed on that bullshit to my son and my son enlisted. I’m going all over the country telling moms: "This country is not worth dying for." ... if I would have known that before my son was killed, I would have taken him to Canada. I would never have let him go and try and defend this morally repugnant system we have.
All this begs an unanswered question:
And any good news from the military side of the house is ruthlessly strangled before it ever sees the light of day, while bad news is promoted 24/7 on the airwaves and in our newspapers by a media who are relentlessly anti-war and anti-administration. Who was Cindy's son? I'll bet he was a good man. But was he a hero? Did he perform feats of honor and bravery on the battlefield? We all know her name - we hear about it everywhere we go. Yet the names of great Americans who have served this nation with honor and distinction are not considered newsworthy. When our troops succeed on the battlefield, when they earn medals, this news does not make it into the mainstream media.
Stop here and read the rest of the absolutely fantastic page from Villainous Company.

Here's a historical perspective from a father of a soldier killed in Iraq about the same time as She-Hen's Son:
Thirty-five years ago, a president faced a similar dilemma in Vietnam. He gave in and we got "peace with honor." To this day, I am still searching for that honor.
So we're left with (1) the ultra-right anti-Zionist forces of David Duke and Patrick J. Buchanan, both of whom approvingly speak of Ms. Sheehan's popular groundswell, (2) the media fools who fall all over themselves over Her, automatically identifying She-Hen and her LaRouche-like drivel with their "left" or "progressive" (read: Socialist or Communist) forces, and (3) the majority, made up of veterans, their relatives, and everyone with an IQ above room temperature.

Her son died for her right to spew this hate America, run away, looser nonsense. The soldiers that have lost their life do not want us to quit in Iraq until we have won. They did not sacrifice their lives and limbs for us to lose this war. They sacrificed so that we could win. We must not repeat the stupidity of the Vietnam War which left so may vets disillusioned. We cannot let people like Cindy Sheehen turn this country into a bunch of whining losers (John Kerry already tried - and failed).

That's all I have to say on this matter. Just thinking about her words, her thoughts, her philosophy, makes me want to take a shower - I feel dirty just reading her words.
