A Lesson from a Soldier

While we sit back and enjoy our friendly Saturday afternoon, I would like to introduce you to someone who is making that possible. His name is Lt. Rusten Currie.

He is serving in Iraq at this time. He has written a very heartfelt, almost love song, letter about what it is like to be a Soldier who has to read the negative articles in our papers, fight the enemy, and have trust shattered. All of this in one day.

How does he manage? He is an American. He rises above it all. For that, we should all be grateful and realize there is a debt we will never be able to repay...and he does not ask that we do. He is an American Soldier.

One who makes me very proud to be an American and at least have the opportunity to read his thoughts. You may read them, also.

With reverence I say, "Thank you for your service. Godspeed home."
